
Advocacy at HAD supports disabled people to have their say, speak out about what
they need, and to take responsibility and control of the decisions that affect
them and their life.
Advocates are independent and impartial and work in partnership with the people
they support by:
Helping you to clarify your own views and wishes Supporting you to speak up
for yourself and express your views Represent your views on your behalf Provide
independent advice and information to enable you to make informed choices Help
with negotiating and resolving situations where there is conflict.

Accessing social, Community or Health Services
Attending meetings/writing letters
Making Complaints
Support with mental health, care and treatment
Support at hospital appointments / ward rounds

The Advocacy Service is free and confidential and open to all people living
in Harrow. Simply contact the HAD office for an initial discussion and we can
then offer you an extended appointment to discuss your needs and agree an action
plan.
